A once beautiful residence in DeKalb is reduced to ashes. The downhill decline continued for many, many years. Sometime in the past it was converted into apartments and the fire most likely means the end for this structure.

Was this the house that a woman started the fire in?
It's a small world...several years ago I flew to Chicago, rented a car and drove to DeKalb to a wedding for Stephanie Fraunberg (I hope this is the right spelling) and Dave Hart. Could that be the same DeKalb as this?
The Farmer's Wife lives 9 miles from anything. Join her on a journey to connect with the rest of the world and find some common ground. Visit anytime. The screen door will be open and the porch light will be on.

I wish I knew. We just happened to be driving through DeKalb and saw this scene. We don't get the DeKalb newspaper so I'm not sure what happened.

We were in Sycamore that weekend for a funeral and I know there was a fire in DeKalb. I bet that is the house.

It's definitely the same DeKalb, just west of Chicago and home town of Cindy Crawford.

Yes, that's the one where the woman started the fire.
