blue sky - barn red

Unlike the filtered light of winter, which produces pastel tones of pink and blue, the light of fall is strong and clear, producing saturated scenes. Blood red barns decorate the countryside, competing with the blast of fall colors in the nearby forest. All are putting on a show, one last performance before winter tosses her grey coat over the countryside.

Grandpa's barn wasn't red. I always wished it was. The old barn is gone but the farm is active, my cousin runs the farm and his woodworking business as well. We have a key hanger made out of a plank from the old barn. Rick's motto: Recycle and reuse everything.

How wonderful that you have a piece of the old barn. Around here the motto is similar:

Use it up
Wear it out
Make it do
Do without

The intensity of the colors right now almost hurts with its' brilliance. That corn piece below is a familiar sight to me..I have several fields nearby that are covered with that pic.

Thanks everyone for your comments. They are always appreciated.

The light at this time in the fall is unbelievable. Too bad I have to work, I'd be out all day taking photos.
