chill

Temperatures are dipping and soon the frost will be on the pumpkin. Summer is over, the last county fair has closed it's gates until next year. The steel grey clouds hang over the landscape promising the snow to come.

What a great moody photo - it wouldn't be the same in color.

I wonder how much different the temps are where you live and southern Illinois. I am driving my parents there in a couple of weeks for another 50th anniversary party so I figure it will be much different than it was in June.

kkm - I have a similar shot that I colorized to look like an old '50s postcard. But I do love this in B & W.

srp - the temps are quite different. My husband went to school at SIU and the temps there were always quite a bit warmer there. The weather there was more akin to Kentucky.

Cracker - Stop it!!! ha ha

HI, I found your site while looking for bee pictures on Google. It took me to a post you made back in May '05. It caught my interest so I decided to explore farther. I like your pictures, but I also like the descriptive way you write. It was an enjoyable visit. Thank you.

I like this shot very much. It brings back so many memories for me. It's not all that cold here, not cold at all, in central Alabama, but I did get to break out my fleece pullover while shooting high school football Friday night. We haven't had out fair yet either.
