condensation

The tall corn all but hides the cooling towers rising in the distance. The Byron nuclear power plant sits in the middle of an agricultural area. The condensation plumes are visible from many, many miles away. Some days they are more dramatic than others.

What an interesting shape the steam makes! Looks like a spindly-legged giant stalking the land.

Are those over by Stillman Valley?

Yes - Stillman Valley and Oregon, Illinois are nearby. It's pretty creepy to drive by the cooling towers. It's very quiet. It's just strange to drive by something that looks like a big industrial complex to hear very little sound.
