in a moment lost

As if an avant garde artist, creating a temporary masterpiece, Mother Natures brilliant show disappears as the sun rises towards its apex. The darker surfaces of the tree trunks give up the sugary coating first, as the rays of the sun heat up the surfaces.

This is beautiful, it looks like an ice storm went through but without all the damage of broken limbs and the shiny layer of ice on the roaad.

These frost pic are lovely. That road is so clear even a Floridiot like me could drive in the winter.

That is one lovely stretch of country road. I wish I was on it right now!

Thanks for the comments, they are always appreciated.

Cracker - you'd do fine, even in a snowstorm. It's fun, trust me!

SRP - I'm not hoping for an ice storm so that I can photograph the effects, because as you've stated it's devasting. Our other piece of property in the Ouchita Mountains in Arkansas was devasted by an ice storm several years ago.

Critic - Yes, contrary to popular opinion the sun does shine here. Occasionally.

Becca - A very Merry Christmas to you and all the others. This, as many other photoblogs, is a personal challenge to see if I can post a photo a day for a year. Even with my "gone fishing" days, the multiple postings averages things out nicely.
