kitchen

As you can see we are trying something new here at The Farmer's Wife. Blogger is offering some altered templates (although they sorely need to design something new). I've chosen one that allow me to post larger photos, but it doesn't come in black.

This view is from the kitchen of the old farmhouse into the parlor. An old fixture for an old lamp still sways on the parlor ceiling. The door to the left is the tiny stairway up to the two small bedrooms.

If you were to go into Blogger, click on the Template tab, and then click on Edit HTML you could change the background color of the template from white to black.
Near the top of the HTML source code should be the following sentence... Variable name="bgcolor" description="Page Background Color"
type="color" default="#fff" value="#ffffff"
.
Replace the #fff with #000 and #ffffff with #000000 (FYI: these are zero's).

My readers are so darn smart....and I'm so old/old school, of an age that technology just doesn't stick. Thanks so much Seeker, I'll try the black and see if I like it. Maybe this is easier on the eyes for reading purposes. Thanks again.

I'm liking this template - not quite as black as the old one, easy to read.

I love how the old farmhouses were layed out. I much prefer it to the wide open spaces of today's homes. And that kitchen wallpaper is really kind of cool. I've always said that if I won the lottery I'd buy old houses and fix them up.

Yes - my son and I have talked about doing the "Flip This House" thing. Only problem is it took me over two week just to paint the kitchen, stain the new sliding door and clean the grout. A full re-hab would take 10 years!
