the narragansett
This is a face only a mother could love. This Narragansett turkey lives at Garfield Farm, and is listed as a critically endangered bird by the American Livestock Breed Conservancy. The toms make a strange noise as they puff themselves up to impress the females, fanning out their beautiful tail feathers. Poor turkeys, they are ugly as sin and as dumb as a box of rocks.

I've recently found you and am very much enjoying your pictures. We're neighbors of sorts, as I'm a bit south of you (Plainfield).
I grew up in a very rural area in Ohio - your photos give me peace in a daily life filled with chaos.
Thank you for doing this, for sharing. You have quite an eye for photography.

That's what I love about driving the backroads.....peace. Many times if I'm out on a rural road photographing a barn the silence (except for the wind and birds) has the most calming effect. Thank you so much for your comments. That is exactly what I'm trying to capture...the peace and simple beauty. Regards, Suzanne
