battle

There's nothing that presents more opportunities for fun than a fresh snowfall. We received a good 12 inches night before last, and in the morning the kids were out in droves doing what kids do.

Just watching them skating on ponds, building snowmen, sledding and the best activity of all - engaging in snowball fights. Teams are chosen, battle lines are drawn and strategies are strategized!

It's such fun as you begin to sweat in all that clothing, the cold air filling your lungs and energizing every cell in your body. Oh, to be a kid again!

I love the snow before all the snow angels and forts and snowmen, when it is pure and white and the pictures exude serenity and quiet.

Of course then the color of the kids jackets and mittens and hats and the flurry of activity in the snow is great too.

I just miss snow. Even more now than in Mississippi. There I just gave up the idea of even having snow. Here we had several small snows last year and only one (1/2 inch) this year so far.

*sigh* Haven't seen any snow where I'm at yet. Doesn't look like we will either.

Long time no see. It seems I lost track of you along the way. Nice to see you are still blogging.

Great picture! Happy moments.

There you are Sidney. Honestly, I was just thinking about you yesterday when I was talking to a friend who's leaving for the Philippines in a couple weeks.

There is nothing I like better than seeing kids have some good, old fashioned outside fun! Great shot -- great piece!

What an exuberant picture! We need some snow here.. as long as it stays off the roads and out of my drive.
