saturday night
Saturday night in small town America. A thunderstorm had rolled through earlier, reducing both the humidity and temperature, making for a perfect evening.
It's relatively short drive to Alice's Place for a turtle sundae. We sit at the table out back and watch the Harley's ride up Route 47.

I'll have a vanilla cone dipped in chocolate.
I miss those stands and the A&W rootbeer drive-ins where they served the cool sweet stuff in a frosted glass mug. Yum.
I wish you had told me you were going. I would have found a way to meet you there!
Reminds me so much of the old Dari Ripple in Sycamore. It was the hot spot for after a ball game in the summer. Great burgers and even better ice cream. There is nothing better than Mom & Pop ice cream shops!
Dari Ripple - yeah. It gives Alices a run for the money. It's been renamed and some new neon installed. It's now called Dari Dog. I haven't had a chance to check it out since the changeover. You've given me a good excuse to drive out there.
Pablo, I would have sent you directions, but certainly we could find something similar at a halfway point.
I wanted to stop in and leave a comment. I think your photos are awesome. This is one of the best blogs I have run across in a long time. I am bookmarking you and will be back again..
Great photo. Great post.
This is a spectacular photograph and copy.
You captured the moment perfectly - the rhythm, the feel, everything.
